end of an era

tshirt - secondhand
sweater - secondhand
leggings - romwe

I found this gem of a t-shirt at a tucked away thrift store outside of the city and it's been one of my default shirts ever since. Who wouldn't want to flaunt Miss Piggy in lingerie? Our two family dogs also proudly make their debut on the blog. I miss these sweet pups. They've moved with the rest of my family across the country, leaving little old me to drown myself in work, clothes, and the pollen of the south, but I'm sure this isn't the last time they'll grace the pages of the blog.

shorts - secondhand, redone

This is my farewell post to summer and my warm welcome to the best time of year. Oh autumn, how I've missed your sweater weather mornings, camping weather nights, and changing leaves.

I got that baggy old men's button up from an estate sale and figured they went perfectly with my thrifted old lady floral capris turned into shorts (which my boyfriend calls my potholder shorts...I don't think he's fond of them). Why is it that I find the wardrobe of senior citizens so appealing?

My dear friend Noah took these photos when we realized how beautiful dusk looked as we sat on my porch. He's a sucker for the golden hour...for real, it's a disgusting obsession. This Noah kid is one helluva humble photographer with a beautifully distinct style. You'll be lucky if his presence graces this blob of a blog again. Check more of his shtuff out here.

everything in this look - secondhand

This was what I threw on just in time to see Safety Not Guaranteed--which was fantastic--with my friend Steven (who is the lovely photographer behind almost all of the photos on my blog). It was after a very busy day and all I wanted was to be comfy, so I accessorized the shit out of myself to balance it all out. I have an unapologetic obsession with jewelry and didn't have the brain cells this day to decide what to wear, so I wore it all. I thought it was a great choice.

lace slip - secondhand
underneath slip - Victoria's Secret
all jewelry - secondhand

I can't imagine living anywhere other than the city, but the occasional escape riverside always provides a nice balance to it all, right? How can you appreciate one without the other?

I found this lace slip while thrifting a while ago and decided that two slips is equivalent to one dress. I think it makes perfect sense and I'll continue to stick by that rule. Plus, slips are so light and airy, they're perfect for this hot, muggy summertime weather. I'm down for that.

I swear I haven't died or moved on to better things even though my four month hiatus may suggest that.

I still love shamelessly posting photos of my clothes and my life on the internet for the world to see...my life just got in the way of the posting part of it all. I gradumated from cawlege, traveled out west with the family for some camping and backpacking in places like Zion National Park, Red Rocks, Escalante, Kanarra Falls in Utah, and everything in between, then I moved into the coolest house in Atlanta and started working working working on any set I could push myself onto.

I think the adjustment into the real world from college has begun to settle in, so I'm back, baby! And I ain't goin' anywhere this time.

New post to come soon...like a matter of days instead of months. Believe it.

dress - secondhand, redone by your's truly
boots - Jeffrey Campbell

Well shit...where has time gone? Classes started back up after spring break a couple weeks ago and they are just relentless. I'm still adjusting to my school schedule, so this poor blog has been collecting dust since my last post.

Anyway, you can't tell me that this dress isn't just awesome, right? I found it while thrifting with my mom over the break, and with my trusty scissors, this was the final result. It's all too appropriate for the 80 degree weather we've been having around here while everything starts to wake back up from winter. I looooove these days, where I can actually enjoy walking around campus and don't have to lug around a jacket all day. Love it.

hat - Scala
sunnies - vintage
black top - Forever 21

If it isn't obvious in this mess of photos, I managed to have my fun throughout this week of relaxation (aka: not an ounce of productivity in my body). I kicked off my spring break by joining up with one of my dearest friends Stevie and getting my first ever tattoo--four circles on the back of my neck. I couldn't be happier with it. What do you think of it?

There was also lots of excitement found during the week through nights out with my roommate, entering film competitions for fun, afternoons with my adorable dogs (you can't tell me your heart didn't melt when you saw the photo of my puppy laying near her ball), celebrating my wonderful father's birthday, and finally some camping and climbing with friends--in which I walked away with a (not so) badass battle wound on my palm.

And of course I found myself at the Salvation Army with my mom where I got the lovely hat and sunnies, along with lots of dresses you'll see later. The combination of the two pieces was too wonderfully 1970s that I couldn't resist posting the look. I've been waiting for a floppy hat like this for so long. I'm in love with it.
